The Burns Tavern is located at 210 Merry St, Motherwell. It is a building in two half’s. The oldest part dates back to 1880 and is the Lounge and Off-Sales. However back then this was the original bar. The other half is the new section, this is the bar and is actually on Dalziel St.
This makes the Burns Tavern the oldest working pub in Motherwell.
Originally the pub was privately owned, then for several years Tennants Caledonian brewery owned and run it. They, like most companies were eventually bought over. Until 2001 when Anne and myself purchased the business.
